Quick Win
Draw Your Own Lines

Take five minutes and write your personal "not this one" list — five tasks from your specific job you're deciding, right now, to always handle yourself. Be concrete: not "HR stuff," but "drafting anything that goes in someone's personnel file." Not "hard emails," but "the annual condolence note when we lose a team member."

Keep it with your red-line card from Chapter 13. Together they're the two halves of using AI like a professional: one says don't put this in, the other says don't ask it to do this at all. The middle, between those two short lists, is everything — and it's yours to work faster than ever.

Prompt Pack: Knowing the Limits

Notice the flavor here: these prompts mostly help you route work to the right human or sharpen your own thinking — using AI to find AI's edges.
15.1The Boundary Sorter

Here are tasks from my role: [GENERIC LIST]. For each, tell me: full AI help, AI for a first draft I'll heavily verify, or do-it-myself — and which of these reasons applies: needs human accountability, needs expertise to verify, or just faster by hand.

15.2The Right-Person Router

I've received [GENERIC SITUATION, e.g., 'a question about how a leave policy applies to a specific employee']. Help me identify who should actually handle this (e.g., HR, legal, manager) and draft a brief, warm note handing it to the right person without overstepping.

15.3The Question-Drafter (not the answer-giver)

I need to consult [a lawyer / accountant / HR] about [GENERIC TOPIC]. Don't answer the question itself. Instead, help me prepare: list the specific questions I should ask and the information I should bring, so the consultation is efficient.

15.4The Sincerity Check

I'm about to write [a condolence note / personal thank-you / sensitive personal message]. Talk me through doing this WELL myself — what to think about, what makes these land, what to avoid — but don't write it for me. This one should be in my own words.

15.5The Thinking-Partner Boundary

I'm working through [A DECISION I need to own]. Ask me clarifying questions to sharpen MY thinking — don't give me your recommendation or write my conclusion. I want to reach it myself; just help me see it more clearly.
